Miaos and Baked Goods

Hello! :D

The title makes me sound like a cat murderer. Like I killed my cats and put them in pies or something. Gross. And cruel. D: But trust me, they are both separate topics!!!!!!!!

Okay. So... starting with the baked goodies, I made shortbread cookies! I made these about a month back, I think. I actually didn't know what shortbread cookies are. That's why I wanted to make them. So after I baked them, I knew what they are. I've actually eaten shortbread cookies before, I just didn't know they were called that.

They're those kinds of cookies that melt in your mouth. Well, kind of. They are incredibly easy to bite. They taste like butter cookies, but of course, softer and more fragile. It may sound... pretentious and stuck up and self-praising to say this but they were oh, sooooo good. And also!!! Very, very simple to make. The dough was so soft and I just loved shaping the cookies and dipping them into the chocolate. Yum. :D Recipe from here.

I forgot whether this was the first batch or not. I think it was. I have to practise more on the dipping so the chocolate cools nicely and there are no lumps or bumps. But they still taste great. So yay. :)

I left some undipped for my dad. :)

Tastiness in a jar (It's actually a plastic container but I think jar sounds better in that context. HAHA! And yes, it's like only 3/4 full because I ate the ones on top already. Heh...)

AND!!!! I did the wordings on my mom's birthday cake, because the person who was supposed to be in-charge of doing the wordings at Fleur-de-lys that day was out for lunch when my dad and I went to get the cake. I know it looks horrible. But practise makes perfect! I didn't even use the proper icing to do wordings, because I didn't know of any. So I just used whipped cream frosting. HAHA! I'm terrible. But I will get there one day!! You just wait and see. :)

And now for cuteless overload!!!!!!

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the dead kitty when it was still alive. So you will never get to see him. The poor cat. :(

But you do get to see his brothers and sisters, which are as cute as a button as he was. :)

This is Pale. Or Dark. They look so similar, I can't tell them apart. (HAHA! That rhymes!) But yeah, his name is Pale or Dark.

This is Monk! Short for "Monkey." HAHAHAHAHAAHAAH WHAT KIND OF NAME IS THAT HAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA! My maid named all the cats so if you find the cats' names weird, you can blame her. She named Monk Monk because she says that Monk's like a monkey. HAHAHAHAHAA MONK.

And this is Nice! HHAHAAHAHAHAHAA! My maid named her that because she says that Nice is very nice. HAHAHAAHAHHA

And this is Dark. Or Pale. I really have no idea. But yeah. Dark or Pale. She named both of them Dark and Pale (Sounds like Chip and Dale. HAHAHA The chipmunks!) because one of them is darker than the other. And the other one is paler. By like a single tone difference. If they're not put side-by-side, you can't really see the difference. Heck, even when put side-by-side you can't really see the difference.

And here is a group family picture, minus the mummy. It was SO hard to get them to stay still and face the camera like that. This was the best shot out of the whole lot.

Here she is in a different shot. The proud mother, Batgirl. My dad named her that because of those markings around her eyes. I reckon that this picture is a nice picture. HAHA! She poses for the camera too, that vain cat. Just like MingMing.

There are A LOT more pictures but all of them were blurry. I didn't want to use flash because the natural lighting would be gone and the pictures won't turn out nice, albeit clear. And I'm scared that flash would make the kittens dizzy or something. So yeah.

Okay that's it! I have to go to sleep soon. So I'll end this post here.
